Krav Maga

Founded by Imi Lichtenfeld in the 1930s, Imi developed these fighting skills to help protect the local Jewish community in Czechoslovakia from the Nazi militia.

Today, in the simplest of terms, Krav Maga means contact combat. It is now recognized worldwide as the official hand-to-hand combat system of the Israeli Defense Forces, used by the Israeli police and several security services. This practical and tactical system teaches you how to prevent, deal with, and ultimately overcome all kinds of attacks. Krav Maga is designed to be consistent, efficient and realistic. It prepares students in self-defense, self protection, fighting and combat skills, as well as skills to defend others, all in unique and comprehensive teachings and way.

Imi Lichtenfeld, The Founder of Krav Maga

Krav-Maga was developed in Israel, under realistic demands and conditions and founded by Imi Lichtenfeld (Sde-Or). Many Krav Maga enthusiasts would call Imi the root of Krav Maga.

Krav Maga IKM and LearnKravMaga.co are associated with International Krav Maga (IKM), founded by Gabi Noah in 2009.

International Krav Maga Federation

Growing rapidly and gaining popularity in its global presence, IKM is active in more than 20 countries. Whether you are a beginner just wanting to learn the basics of self-defense or advanced wanting to refine and perfect your self-defense techniques, IKM offers programs and instruction custom fit for your needs. Specialized courses for Women’s self-defense techniques are also offered so that female students can gain the skills and knowledge they desire and need in a safe and inviting environment. The education provided in any type of class at IKM can instill martial arts techniques which can be potentially lifesaving.

At LearnKravMaga.co, we pride ourselves in focusing on ingraining the core skills and fundamentals of Krav Maga equipping each student to be both mentally and physically strong and be able to — as Imi Lichtenfeld, founder of Krav Maga put it — “walk in peace”.

Rather than focusing on extra costs related to uniforms, tournament fees, etc, lkm focuses on ingraining the core fundamentals of Krav Maga in each student so each one can become mentally and physically stronger and “walk in peace” – Imi Lichtenfeld, founder of Krav Maga
